Pool Plaster Perth FAQs
Why should I choose Rainbow Quartz Pool Plaster?
Rainbow Quartz is manufactured in Perth to meet the demand for the more exotic and exciting colours of today's and tomorrows concrete swimming pools.
Many years of development and research by our company in conjunction with pool builders, pool renovators, plasterers, pool sales consultants and pool care professionals, means we are aware of customers' current requirements. This combined with ongoing field testing, ensures that Rainbow Quartz pool plasters will remain a leader in Price and Quality, Innovation and Durability.
What is Rainbow Quartz Pool Plaster?
It is a blend of the finest quality white Quartz sands from selected local quarries plus - metallic oxides, colour coated aggregates and performance additives. It is a 'ready to mix' render in the colour of your choice, which is troweled by hand on to the concrete shell of your swimming pool. Applying the pool plaster is usually the last step in the project before the swimming pool is handed over to you.
Why is white cement not already in a bag of Rainbow Quartz Pool Plaster?
To ensure an unlimited shelf life we do not add cement to the mix at the factory. Some products with cement included, have a limited shelf life of between four and six months as cement will go lumpy when exposed to moisture. We supply fresh high quality white cement with each pool plaster order as required. Everything else however, is already in the mix including; the measured quantity of colour pigments and coloured quartz aggregate for your chosen colour and glitter particles for that bit of extra bling.
What is the difference between Rainbow Quartz Pool Plaster and plasters mixed/ blended on site?
Strict quality control in our manufacturing plant ensures perfect consistency within and between batches of our leading colour range. Every 20kg bag of Rainbow Quartz contains an identical mix so you are assured an even colour and texture throughout your pool when applied and finished by a competent applicator. The old way of blending colours on site is prone to error and is no longer considered industry best practice.
How do I know that genuine Rainbow Quartz Pool Plaster is being used if That's What I Asked For?
Rainbow Quartz Pool Plaster is packed in clear plastic bags with yellow writing and marked with our distinctive trademark logo. Each bag is labeled with the colour you have selected. The Rainbow Quartz colour range cannot be accurately copied or duplicated by imitators.
Why is the materials price a bit more for the darker colours?
Darker shades are generally worth a bit more as more metallic oxides and coloured aggregates are needed to obtain the beautiful colours. Complex inorganic pigments and colour coated aggregates are the most expensive ingredients in any pool plaster.
Is Rainbow Quartz Pool Plaster suitable for renovating my old pool?
Yes, Rainbow Quartz is ideal for resurfacing older concrete pools. See the Renovations Section in this site for details and some great pictures.
Can I do the job myself - My brother in law has done some house plastering?
This is definitely not a do it yourself handyman product. You need better than average skills on a trowel, a good understanding of what is involved in applying a cementitious render by hand in often difficult conditions (eg. hot and windy), an experienced team to work with and some specialised equipment. We can recommend applicators who will stand behind their work, giving you a value for money proposition.
Most of us think it is clear, just like when you pour a glass of water. So why do white pools still appear a shade of blue? Read this interesting Wikipedia article on 'The Colour of Water'.
Another fascinating paper from the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) in the USA looks at 'The Colour of Oceans'. If you like the aqua colour around the Bahama Islands in one of these photos from space, you will probably love our turquoise pool plaster.
